The beachside city of Encinitas, which includes several distinctive communities, has a character all its own. My objective with this ongoing body of work is to document the unique spots that reflect the history of the town, even the old neglected houses about to be torn down and turned into multi-unit monsters. Most of the photos were made on film, with cameras as various as a Pentax 67 and a Holga. Many of the buildings photographed at the start of the project in early 2017 are no longer standing.
